FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – With the start of early voting for the Franklin City Elections less than four weeks away, the Coalition for Common Sense TN has announced its endorsements for Franklin Mayor and the four At-Large Alderman positions.

“First and foremost, our Coalition is urging Franklin residents to go to the polls this fall,” said Coalition Chairman Bob Ravener. “This is not the time to sit on the sidelines. The continued success of our city depends on electing people who are for Franklin.”

The Coalition for Common Sense TN is supporting the following candidates:

Mayor: Dr. Ken Moore

Aldermen at Large

   Position A:  Clyde Barnhill
   Position B:   Brandy Blanton
   Position C:   Greg Caesar
   Position D:   Ann Petersen

The Coalition based its endorsements on surveys provided to candidates that sought information on how they view their role in promoting good government through community leadership, especially when it comes to quality of life and encouraging citizen engagement through respectful communication. The Coalition also based its endorsements on a review of candidate websites and profiles, social media and public comments, and, where applicable, on voting records.

“Franklin is widely recognized as a model city and the Coalition believes Mayor Moore, Aldermen Barnhill, Blanton and Petersen as well as Greg Caesar have demonstrated a sincere commitment to Franklin’s continued success as a desirable community to live, work, raise a family and retire,” said Ravener. “The incumbents, in particular, have successfully led Franklin through unprecedented growth using a common sense approach that has allowed our city to maintain its historic charm while welcoming newcomers into the community.”

The Coalition for Common Sense TN, which is a registered political action committee, was recently formed as a grassroots effort to support elected officials and candidates who have the greater good of the community as a priority versus divisive ideological issues. The Coalition is a response to a widespread concern and is being initiated by an active, cross-section of citizens who see a need to engage their friends, families and neighbors in local government. To date, over 600 Williamson County residents have signed on to the Coalition.
